Rhubarb Lemonade with Green Tea

If you are looking for a healthy lemonade, this is it! Combining green tea, figs, and rhubarb, you are left with an amazing water kefir that is both sweet and tangy. Enjoy this as a refreshing drink on a hot day and get your probiotics in too! This recipe came to us from Nicky in the Gut Health Guru’s Facebook Group!

Ingredients: 

-1 liter water

- 70 g raw cane sugar

- 3-4 tsp green tea

- 2 dried figs

- 1 slice organic lemon

- 1-2 stalks of rhubarb

- 30-50 g water kefir grains

Method:

  1. Add water, kefir grains, and raw sugar into quality mason jars. Stir well and allow it to sit on the kitchen bench for 2-3 days until it is fermented. 
  2. Strain out grains with a cheesecloth and then add the lemon slice, green tea, figs, and stalks of rhubarb
  3. Place back into the jars and keep in a warm environment for 2-3 days or you can taste frequently and enjoy once the taste is to your liking!
