Keterangan

A freeze-dried, organic starter culture blending 10 live bacterial strains, formulated for thick, creamy, rich, home-fermented yoghurt. Designed to pair perfectly with the Reuter-i Pro Yoghurt Maker.

Meet Probiotic Max, Nourishme Organics' most comprehensive yoghurt starter culture yet. Where a traditional yoghurt starter relies on just two strains, Probiotic Max combines 10 live bacterial strains in a single freeze-dried sachet — giving your home-made yoghurt a broader strain diversity than most yoghurts you'll find on the supermarket shelf.

Formulated for direct-yoghurt maker use, Probiotic Max is simple to work with: no re-culturing equipment, no mother culture to maintain, and no guesswork. Just add to milk, incubate, and set. It's been developed to work seamlessly with the Reuter-i Pro Yoghurt Maker, Nourishme's precision fermentation device, which holds a consistent incubation temperature for reliable results batch after batch.

The 10-Strain Blend

Probiotic Max contains the following live bacterial strains:

  • Streptococcus thermophilus
  • Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus
  • Lacticaseibacillus paracasei
  • Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus
  • Lacticaseibacillus casei
  • Lactiplantibacillus plantarum
  • Lactobacillus acidophilus
  • Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis
  • Bifidobacterium bifidum
  • Lactobacillus gasseri

  • Flavour: Clean, medium tang with a pleasant finish
  • Acidification: Medium-to-fast set time
  • Format: Freeze-dried sachet for direct addition to milk — no activation step required
  • Storage: Keep refrigerated until use for maximum viability

Why Home-Fermented Yoghurt

Making your own yoghurt puts you in control of what goes into it — no added sugar, no gums, no fillers, just milk and live cultures. Combined with the Reuter-i Pro Yoghurt Maker's consistent, adjustable temperature control, Probiotic Max is built for anyone who wants a reliable, repeatable batch of home-set probiotic yoghurt.

How to Use with the Reuter-i Pro Yoghurt Maker

  1. Pour 2L of UHT Milk into glass yoghurt making jar
  2. Sprinkle the Probiotic Max sachet and 4 teaspoons Chicory Root Fibre (optional Prebiotic) evenly over the milk and whisk to combine. A milk frother works well.
  3. Set the Reuter-i Pro to the yoghurt preset by pressing the function button once and operation will start.
  4. Once the fermentation cycle is complete, refrigerate for at least 4 hours before enjoying.

*Fermentation outcomes vary with milk type, incubation time and temperature, and additives used.

FAQ

How many serves does one sachet make?

One sachet ferments 2L of milk. 2 tablespoons of the prepared yoghurt can be used as a starter for the next batch. This can be repeated 6 times before using a new sachet.

Do I need the Reuter-i Pro Yoghurt Maker to use Probiotic Max? No — Probiotic Max can be used with any consistent-temperature yoghurt maker or incubation method. It's been formulated and tested to pair well with the Reuter-i Pro Yoghurt Maker for the most consistent results. The culture requires a stable fermentation temperature at 42°C for 6 to 10 hours. The longer the fermentation time the more sour the flavour.

Can I re-culture a batch to make the next one?

Yes, 2 tablespoons of the prepared yoghurt can be used as a starter for the next batch. This can be repeated 6 times before using a new sachet.

Is Probiotic Max suitable for dairy-free milk?

No, this culture is not suitable for non dairy fermentation. We have a Vegan Coconut Starter culture which can be used for all nut based milk products.

How should I store the sachets? Store in the refrigerator and use before the expiry date printed on the pack for best results. The culture can be frozen for up to 2 years to extend the shelf life.

Why is this starter more expensive than other brands?

Most commercial starters are 90%+ filler — maltodextrin, dextrose, milk powder or lactose — making the pure probiotic content tiny despite the low price. This culture is 100% pure live bacteria with probiotic strains at meaningful CFU counts. When you factor in re-culturing up to 6 times per sachet, the cost per litre becomes excellent.

How long does the sachet last?

Refer to the expiry date printed on the packaging.

When does Nourishme Organics ship live cultures?

Live cultures ship Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday only, so they do not sit in transit over the weekend. Choose express shipping for best results.
