Collagen, the cement that holds it all together

Collagen is the body’s most important building block and it makes up approximately 30% of the proteins in our bodies. Collagen is a key structural protein that ensures the cohesion, elasticity and regeneration of all our connective tissues including skin, cartilage and bones. In essence, it is the ‘glue’ that holds everything together. It strengthens various body structures and the integrity of our skin.

With age, less collagen is produced naturally by our body, and the first signs of ageing start to occur. As from around the age of 30 and accelerating in our 40’s, loss of collagen affects all the connective tissues, such as skin, joints and bones.

Collagen is in our cartilage, bones, skin, hair and nails

Different types of collagen are found in different parts of the body. Collagen is present not only in our bones, joints, tendons, ligaments and skin, but also in all the smooth muscle tissues, blood vessels, and in other organs. Collagen is even a major component of our hair and nails. The majority of our body’s collagen is composed of type 1 collagen.

Different cells in our body tissues are responsible for the production of collagen. The cells use specific amino acids and peptides as building blocks to produce the large collagen helix structure, which is then organised into the strong fibres that provide structural tissue support.

Pure Hydrolysed Beef Collagen, a high-purity, natural bioactive product

Hydrolysed Beef Collagen are so-called Type 1 and Type 3 Collagen Peptides. This means they are identical to the collagens found in human bones and skin. Our Hydrolysed Beef Collagen is a high-purity, natural bioactive product, containing more than 90% protein (on a dry weight basis).

Collagen peptides are optimised for high bioavailability and activity, and their hydrolysed form makes them easily digestible by humans. Hydrolysed Beef Collagen is a bioactive ingredient that has been specifically developed to deliver multiple health benefits and functional properties. As a natural, non-allergenic and clean label product, it can be easily incorporated into foods and beverages, without impacting taste or odour.

Hydrolysed Beef Collagen contains 18 amino acids

Hydrolysed Beef Collagen contains 18 amino acids, the building blocks of our tissues and the primary component of proteins. Glycine, proline and hydroxyproline represent around 50% of total amino acid content; the glycine and proline concentration is 10 to 20 times higher than in other proteins. As a result, our Hydrolysed Beef Collagen offers Nutri-functional properties that cannot be found in other protein sources.

Animal Welfare Standards:

There is an EU regulation on organic food that promote animal welfare. According to the EU organic regulations, dairy cows must have access to pasture for grazing. Exceptions exist regarding weather conditions, state of the ground and obligations related to the protection of human and animal health.

At each stage of the chain, professionals are committed to guaranteeing consumers good quality beef. As such, breeders respect exacting standards, in particular for the food they distribute to their animals. In France, beef meat comes from animals fed exclusively on plants and mineral supplements. The supply of food supplements to fodder is governed by rigorous regulations, both at national and European level. The regulations require precise labelling of all products purchased by the breeder and intended for animal feed. The exact composition of the food marketed must be stated on the label. - Source: https://www.la-viande.fr/animal-elevage/boeuf/alimentation-bovins

Thank you Sally

Joani G. (Melbourne, AU)

Have only been using beef collagen for almost a week. As yet notice no difference. One issue I have is the miniscule writing on the label. You have a ton of space and it's almost impossible to read the text. I suggest you make it much bigger.

Thank you for your feedback Joani
