What is coconut water kefir?

Create delicious all-natural, probiotic beverages for your family. Dairy-free, vegan and raw. Coconut Water kefir is made from water kefir grains, also known as sugar grains, tibicos, Tibi, or Japanese water crystals. The grains are made up of a culture of various strains of healthy bacteria and yeast, held together in a polysaccharide matrix created by the bacteria. These microbes feed on sugar naturally present in coconut water and produce lactic acid, and carbon dioxide, yielding a delicious fermented carbonated beverage very low in sugar.

Healthy and happy grains

These grains are powering ahead. They seem very fit and started growing very quickly from day one. They make a delicious and healthy beverage and it’s a joy to listen to the effervescence particularly after the second ferment. A quality product.

Fantastic little grains

My coconut water kefir grains arrived in good shape and have performed beautifully from day 1, producing a really delicious kefir. I find them easier to use than the water kefir grains and the flavour is better with the underlying slight sweetness of the coconut water…you also don’t need to use as much sugar which I always found a problem with the plain water kefir. Overall very happy.

Unable to use

The hydrated grains were in my letter box on a 30 degree QLD summer day, in an envelope that said store under 4 degrees Celsius. I put them in coconut water regardless and 12 hours later had a thick film of kahm yeast. I am so disappointed and will be seeking a refund.

Thank you for your feedback Emily...kefir grains are very resilient and will be perfectly fine when transported at ambient temperature. Kahm yeast is also normal. To reduce the likelihood of yeast dominance ferment with the lid fully closed. For further assistance please call 1800 959 787
