Elderberry Gummies

There's no better way to ward off cold and flu bugs than keeping your immune system strong through diet and good supplementation! Why not do it with these sweet/tart yummy gummies? This is a sweet treat that is also good for your immune system. This recipe comes from us from Terri in our Gut Health Gurus Facebook Group!


Ingredients:

1 lemon juiced (you can use the pulp!)

2 Tbsp raw honey

4-5 Tbsp Organic Gelatin

1/3 cup elderberry syrup

1/3 cup apple cider vinegar or kombucha

1 teaspoon Pure Kakadu Plum Powder (optional but recommended because of the high levels of Vitamin C!)

Ground up Scoby (optional as well but has extra benefits!)


Method:

  1. Heat the lemon juice just until warm enough to dissolve the honey and gelatin. Too much heat will kill any live enzymes...so air with caution while heating the mixture! It does not have to be that hot to the point of boiling!

  1. Remove from the stove and stir in elderberry syrup and vinegar/kombucha.

  1. At this point, you can add in the Pure Kakadu Plum powder to give you that extra immune system support! You can also add in the ground scoby if you wanted to as well!

    4. Use a pipet or spoon to place into a gummy tray and let them sit in the refrigerator for at least an hour. Keep them in the refrigerator or freezer and take them everyday!
