Brine Flax Crackers

If you are looking for a simple, yet delicious and healthy cracker recipe, this is it! And these aren’t your everyday crackers from the store. They are made with brine, flax seeds, and almonds, without the preservatives! Using brine from another fermentation, they are full of goodness for your gut as well. This recipe came to us from Marilyn in the Gut Health Guru’s Facebook Group! 

Ingredients: 

- 2 cups of brine (from fermented vegetable mix, here are some ideas: asparagus, vegetable kraut, pickles)

- 2 cups whole flax seeds 

- 1 cup of almonds

Method:

  1. Soak the flax seeds and almonds in brine overnight
  2. In the food processor, roughly process and then spread on a dehydrator sheet thinly. Dry at 115 degrees Fahrenheit for about 12 hours or until dry.
  3. Store in a closed container and enjoy with this salmon kefir cheese spread or this savory milk kefir cheese spread!
