Fermented Rhubarb

Fermented Rhubarb

Fermented Rhubarb can be used in pies, ice cream, or simply as a side to consume more fermented foods throughout your day! This recipe is simple to make and is full of antioxidants as well. This recipe came to us from Geordi in the Gut Health Guru’s Facebook Group!

Ingredients:

- 5-6 ribs of rhubarb

- 1-2 tbsp raw honey

- 1 tsp sea salt

- 3 whole spice cloves

- Fill jar with filtered water

Method:

  1. Place the rhubarb, honey, sea salt, and cloves into a mason jar and then fill with filtered water.
  2. Put a weight on top to keep it submerged. Put a pickle pipe on and let it ferment roughly a week (make sure to taste often!) You can use this kit which has both the pickle pipe and the weights.
