Ginger contains powerful antioxidants which is why this water kefir recipe is a great one to add to the recipes you want to try! The dried plums contain boron which is great for bones and muscles and the vanilla bean contains even more antioxidants. This recipe came to us from Nicky in the Gut Health Guru’s Facebook Group!
Ingredients:
-1 liter water
- 50 g raw cane sugar
- 1 tbsp molasses
- 2-3 dried plums
- 70 g ginger
- 2 slices organic lemon
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 vanilla bean
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 30-50 g water kefir grains
Method:
- Add water, kefir grains, molasses, raw sugar, and lemon juice into quality mason jars. Stir well and allow it to sit on the kitchen bench for 2-3 days until it is fermented.
- Strain out grains with a cheesecloth and then add the lemon slices, ginger, vanilla bean, cinnamon, and dried plums.
- Place back into the jars and keep in a warm environment for 2-3 days or you can taste frequently and enjoy once the taste is to your liking!
