Great service, prompt delivery, grains not so strong

Great service and prompt delivery, though the grains are not very robust. I have made 3 batches now and the grains seem to be going soft and breaking apart rather than growing and clumping together. They are fermenting the coconut milk within a 48 hour timeframe being the cooler months of the year. I feel maybe if the grains came in 15g packets rather than 5 grams the ferment would be a bit more robust.

Hello, thank you for your feedback! We're glad you received your order promptly. Sorry to hear the grains aren't as robust as you'd like and the grains falling apart. This is a sign of the grains not having enough food. Coconut grains were originally adapted from milk kefir grains so they will need a source of food aside from the coconut milk. A dried organic date works really well. Also you can refresh in full cream milk if this is within your paradigm.

Not worth the money!

I received my purchase fairly promptly and was disgusted with the quantity and cost of what I received. Enough grains to produce a 250ml of kefir ( yet to produce anything) for $41.30 incl postage!! Really? 🙄
